Invite your friends and whānau along to celebrate in our indoor play space near the Wellington Waterfront.

Party in PlayHQ

PlayHQ is our indoor play space located at 4 Queens Wharf. Our play activations are filled with interactive activities, dress-up costumes, a photobooth, crafts, books, and space to run around.
The current play activation Topsy Turvy encourages tamariki to explore with their senses.

What does it cost?

A PlayHQ Party costs $250 (this includes a photo booth session). 

You are welcome to bring party food. There are limited kitchen facilities available for preparation.

Free parking is available for one vehicle for the party duration for ease of unloading/loading. For additional vehicles we recommend street parking or the TSB Arena car park. 

There are some party items we aren’t able to have in our space for health and safety reasons. 

These include piñata, glitter, party poppers, and candles/fire (these can set off the fire alarm and sprinkler system for the entire building). You are welcome to light and blow out candles just outside the venue. 

We provide crafts, and any activities available in the current play activation. We do not provide an entertainer or party activities, but you are more than welcome to bring your own. Our Venue Manager Attendant will be onsite to ensure everything is working safely and your party is running smoothly, but not to facilitate the party. 

Feel free to play your own music through our sound system, or we can put on our PlayHQ playlist. 

During your party, the party space is all yours! Members of the public will not be allowed to access the venue, only your invited party guests.

Groups may include up to 30 people. We recommend no more than 15 adults to allow room for tamariki to run around. 

As part of your booking you get one photo per child. The Venue Manager will set up the photobooth so it remains on for 30 minutes. If you wish for additional photos, they will be charged at the regular price of $3 each. 

Yes, we have limited kitchen facilities for food preparation with a fridge, microwave and oven available for your use on the day. We can provide a limited range of platters, along with plastic cups and plates if required. We do not provide cutlery or napkins. 

There will be a trestle table set up for food, and space on the craft tables for eating. We provide tablecloths along with plates and cups for the children to use. 

Absolutely! Please note that for Health and Safety reasons some decorations aren’t permitted in PlayHQ. You are welcome to light and blow out candles just outside the venue. 

We will do our best to find an alternative date to host your party when your little one is feeling better. Let us know as soon as possible and we will work something out together. 

You will have access to the venue 30 minutes before your party starts, and 30 minutes after the party to pack down. 

Nōku te Ao Capital E does not hold a liquor license so no alcohol can be consumed in our premises.

A Nōku te Ao Capital E Venue Attendant will be onsite to help you set-up, show you around the facilities, assist with the setup of some of our craft activities, and ensure everything is working safely and running smoothly.
