How much does it cost?

All teachers are free. You may bring up to three parent helpers for free. Additional adults pay the same price as a student.  

Pricing for the 2 Hour Sessions:

$7.50 per student for Wellington Area Schools, including schools in the Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt and Porirua areas. 

$10 per student for schools outside of Wellington.

Minimum session charge $115 (Wellington Area Schools)

Minimum session charge $150 (Schools outside of Wellington)

Pricing for the 3.5 Hour Sessions:

$10 per student for Wellington Area Schools, including schools in the Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt and Porirua areas. 

$15 per student for schools outside of Wellington.

Minimum session charge $200

When do we need to pay?

An invoice will be sent to your school after your visit. Payments cannot be accepted prior to the day or on the day.

How many students can I book in?

Maximum 34 students. No minimum number of students.

Do I need to book?

YES! The SoundHouse™ must be booked as far in advance as possible to secure the session dates and times that you need.

How do I make a booking?

Please complete the appropriate booking form for the programme you want to attend. Booking forms can be downloaded here.

How much time do I need to allow for a Capital E programme?

We ask all school groups to arrive 15-20 minutes before your programme start time.

The SoundHouse sessions run for 2 hours or 3 ½ hours.

The duration of your programme will be confirmed when you make a booking.

What time of the day can we book?

We offer set session times for the SoundHouse. Depending upon availability, we can be flexible to fit in with your schedule.

2 hour programmes

9:30am – 11:30am OR 12:30pm – 2:30pm OR 3:30 – 5:30pm

3.5 hour programmes

9:30am – 1pm; OR 12:30pm – 4pm; OR3:30pm – 7pm

National Theatre For CHildren

How much does it cost?

$6.50 per student. One adult per ten children will be admitted for free. Additional adults pay $6.50 each. We allow one adult for free per four children for schools with students who have special needs. There is no charge for babies (under two years of age).

When do we need to pay?

Payment is required in full prior to the performance date for all theatre tickets. An invoice will be sent to you once we have received your booking. Invoices are due to be paid on the 20th of the month. If your school is unable to pay in full by the invoice date please contact the Booking Coordinator.

How many students can I book in?

No minimum number of students. Contact the Booking Coordinator to check performance availability and venue size.

What time of the day can we book?

Performance times for Stealing Games and Seasons are:

10am & 11:30am at all venues (except Auckland which have 9.45am & 11.15am performances) At some venues there is also a 1pm performance .
